Employee Health and Wellness Programs and the
Foundation for Wellness Professionals
Educational • Inspiring • Motivating • And FREE!
Human Resources professionals, know the challenges of finding and retaining good employees…and of maximizing their productivity. But you also know that employees, who lead unhealthy lifestyles are less productive, take more time off from work, don’t always perform to their full potential and ultimately cost companies more in health care related expenses.
Wouldn’t it be great to offer programs that motivate them to be healthier and more productive…at no cost?
That’s where the Foundation for Wellness Professionals can help. The Foundation for Wellness Professionals™ is an association of professional healthcare motivational and keynote speakers that was originally founded as “The Doctors Speakers Bureau” in 1985 by Dr. David Singer, in Clearwater, Florida. This volunteer, non profit association operates through independently-operated chapters across the United States and Canada.
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals is incorporated as an official professional association with the State of Florida (N03000002637). It has 501(c)3 non-profit status.
Members are natural healthcare professionals who devote their time as motivational and keynote speakers, perform Wellness Days, blood pressure checks, spinal screenings and deliver educational workshops at no charge on health-related topics in their local communities. Foundation for Wellness Professionals members are in great demand to speak at corporations, associations, civic groups, bookstores, and fitness centers.
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals offers many free Employee Health and Wellness Programs that can make a real difference in employee health, productivity, and quality of life both on and off the job. They enhance the employee experience by providing an educational forum right in the workplace where they can listen…learn…and start applying the information immediately in their own lives.
All seminars and workshops emphasize preventative care as the key to good health. Workshops and seminars vary in length from 45 minutes to one hour. Audience participation is strongly recommended when possible and those who attend always leave with practical information they can put to use to improve their lives immediately. The most significant way to reduce healthcare costs is to educate the public on ways to maintain their health and prevent disease.
The FWP Programs consist of two components. The first is a series of hour-long Health Seminars on topics such as Nutrition…Sitting Healthy…Fatigue… Ergonomics…Stress Management, and others. Utilizing PowerPoint to add visual interest and clarity, these seminars can be held as a “Lunch and Learn,” or as a regular meeting during other times of the day. The Seminars are given by Dr. Ed Sofo, a local representative of the Foundation for Wellness Professionals and a passionate and entertaining speaker. The topics can be scheduled individually, or as an on-going series throughout the year.
The second component is our complimentary Health Screenings. Utilizing manual and digital testing, Dr. Sofo provides a palpation screening exam and a posture analysis. He then offers valuable suggestions for posture improvement and specific exercises that can be applied right at their workstation. Each employee will also receive a set of exercises they can start using immediately. The Health Screenings can be done at your employee health fair, or as its own separate event.
What’s required from you? Nothing…other than providing a room and some electricity.
So why not do something good for your employees. It will show them that the company cares about their employees and is a leader in providing employee health education programs, it will result in your employees being happier, healthier and more productive.
